Haunted Doll || My Halloween Face

This is what happens when I am bored.

Haha! I edited this way back 2010 coz I had no makeup items then, and Picnik was the easiest way to create a Halloween look. I used this as my profile picture every Halloween until 2012. :)))

But this year, my bored self decided to create a simple Halloween look without using stickers from online photo editors. And I came up with this:

I scared my boyfriend with this face :)))

Better than my 2010 Halloween peg :))

A smile wont hurt :3

I winged my eyeliner for both upper and lower lids
Applied thicker liner on the lower lids

Who wants to kiss a haunted doll? :)

I had to use a jacket to cover my neck where I didnt apply makeup, coz it looked darker than my face. :))  I also curled the ends of my hair to create add a dolly feel, but doll eye lenses definitely sealed the look.

Products I used:
1. Tony Moly Cat's Wink BB cream- as base/foundation since I dont own a full coverage foundation
2. White loose powder- to set the BB cream
3. James Cooper eyebrow liner in Brown (Must try!)
4. San San Age Defense waterproof liquid eyeliner in black
5. Mac Sheen Supreme lipstick in Bare Again
6. WetnWild lipstick in Pink Ice- as tint applied to the inner center of the lips for a gradient effect
6. Flexwear Dolly Contact Lenses in Super Black

OOTD|| Ayala Christmas 2011

Christmas is near! But it's sad that only a few people set up and decorate for this very special occasion. T__T Our family didnt put up lights and/or lanterns, too. But I'm glad that some institutions make efforts to still let the public feel the spirit of Christmas. :)

Last last year, my friends (Mica, Estoy) and I agreed to view the Lights and Sounds show at the Ayala Triangle together.

And because I love showing my legs (lol :p), but dont want to look hoochie, this is what I wore:

Long sleeved blouse from the local department store
Shorts from Jag
Shoes from FILA
Bag from Kipling
Belt I received as a gift
Vintage necklace I received as a gift

I just noticed, I sported black that day :)) Not a common theme for Christmas, eh?  Good thing the belt and bag broke the monotony of my outfit, while the bag and necklace accentuated the overall look just right. I hope I achieved my goal to be sort of revealing without looking trashy. Haha! Thank you to Estoy and Mica for the pictures! :)

Feel free to comment and tell me what you think :)

Review|| Shawill 12 Color Cream Eyeshadow

My 2nd makeup review! Yaaay :D

I never had an eyeshadow palette, as I thought I would never use it. But then, my sister needed to be in a goddess costume for an activity in school, so we need matching face-do as well!

My sister and I went to Watsons to find affordable drugstore makeup. I checked the Nichido counter and found a palette with blush and eyeshadows. I also picked a white eyeliner. But when I was about to pay for the items, the Shawill line caught my eye.

They had about 4-6 eyeshadow palettes both matte and shimmer shadows. I swatched their eyeshadows, and wow! I knew I had to buy that eyeshadow palette. :) And it is very affordable at 148Php! I picked palette 01, the one with strong green and yellow + earth colors, as those were what I would be needing for my sister's look.  (I returned the Nichido items :<)

REVIEW

Packaging:

Shawill
12 color cream eyeshadow
 Gives you a charming look

Elegant soft pearly luster, soft and textured look that can be intensified with layering.
Fashionable tint with glitters that creates a gradient effect.
Exp date: 2018.01.04

Comments:

  • I like the sleek black case with minimal prints. It does not look cheap nor childish.
  • I am not sure what they meant with cream eyeshadow, because the colors are definitely powder. :))
  • I dont know if I will believe the expiration date :))
  • Glossy plastic makes the palette easier to clean, but is prone to scratches.
  • Durable packaging; I dropped it 2-3times and everything is still intact. :)
  • The mirror included is a bit small.
  • I wish they included the ingredients. :(
Applicator:

Comments:
  • Length of the applicator makes it easier to use.
  • Sponge is easier to clean; also picks up product effectively. :)
Swatches:
1 layer
2 layers

Rubbed with fingers (x3) + Water test (~1min)
Rubbed again with cloth (x3)
Comments:
  • Playful colors :)
  • Textures of most of the eyeshadows are buttery, and glides smoothly on the skin. :) My favorites colors are: deep sky blue, violet, green, black and copper.
  • Other colors tend to be clumpy, and sometimes, chalky. I was mostly disappointed with the white eyeshadow since it is chalky, and does not transfer color much on the waterline. :( I use the light brown on my waterline instead.
  • Colors are pigmented and buildable. :)
  • I was amazed at how the shadows had good staying power, even after the rub and water test. :D It is really worth more than its price. :)
Will I recommend it? Yes! Especially to beginners in using makeup like me. :)
Will I repurchase it? I would like to try the matte palettes. I hope it is as good as this. :3

Gradient eye makeup

Used on the waterline

UPDATE:

I forgot to include my sister's complete look! Anyway, here it is:
Dress and cape were hand-sewn and made from scratch :)
Bow and arrow were also hand-crafted from scrap materials :D

End of review.

Review|| Maybelline Clear Smooth 8-in-1 Transformer BB Cream

My mom originally bought this for herself, but she liked the Tony Moly BB cream, so she gave the Maybelline BB cream to me. :>

This is my first ever review. So be kind to me, okay? Hihi

Product claims:
  • Brightens skin: visible whitening effect
  • Covers imperfections: reduces appearance of pores, skin redness disappears
  • Moisturizes + protects: all day hydration + helps protect skin from UV rays and free radicals
Swatches:

I got mine in shade 02 Natural

Blended :D (♥ marks the spot!)

My skin type: dry (visible lines especially in forehead and undereye area)
My skin shade: sorry I'm still not familiar with the specific skin shades, but I think I'm a typical morena :)
My skin tone: uneven :(
Others: (+) pimple scars on cheeks and forehead, (+) dark undereye circles

See what I'm talking about...
Pardon my bare face :))))) The pimple scars are not that visible in the photo, but I swear I have them :)))

Let's apply le BB cream *__*... (♥ marks the spot!)

PROS: Lo and behold!
  • more even skin tone
  • lightened pimple marks
  • lightened undereye circles
  • whitening effect (still looks natural)
  • not cakey nor heavy on face
  • SPF! :)
  • Lasts for ~4-6 hours on me without retouching :)
CONS:
  • light to medium coverage only; does not conceal
  • moisturizing effect is minimal (my skin still looks and feels dry even after ~2months of usage)
  • may improve in packaging
Will I recommend? If you want a natural look, and does not need too much coverage, this BB cream is a must-try :)

Will I repurchase? Hmm, not for a while. Might try BB cream foundation from Pinkies Collection or Shawill cosmetics after I use this up. :)

Tips:
  • Moisturize before applying BB cream. This will hep decrease visible lines and creases especially in dry skin.
  • Use concealer for those stubborn acne marks. This BB cream might not do the job alone. :)
Final look for half of my face

Other products used:
  1. Flexwear contact lens in Sienna
  2. St. Ives Timeless Skin Collagen Elastin Moisturizer
  3. Nichido minerals precise eye pencil in Tiger Eye
  4. San San age defense waterproof eyeliner (black)
  5. Shawill blusher in 04
  6. Wet n Wild lipstick in Pink Ice/Glace Rose
  7. Apple Sunday cake
End of review.

Thanks for reading :)
